Classic mohair yarn with long fibers were very popular during the 80s knitting boom and are still very popular. Vienna is a warm and soft yarn that can be used all year. The yarn has a light center thread on the the light colors and a black tie wire on the dark colors. The tie wire in polyester is twisted around the long-haired mohair fibers and makes the yarn durable. It also prevents shedding and to hold shape well.

Mohair originates from the Angora goats and is known as one of the most exclusive wool fibres. With its long, silky soft and shining fibres, it dyes very easily and it’s possible to obtain the most stunning and clear colours. Mohair insulates both against cold and heat and feels comfortable to wear all year round. A thin thread spun round the long fibres render the yarn very hard wearing

Hand wash Vienna at 30°C. Use plenty of water and powder with a neutral Ph value. Never rub the garment but move gently in water. Rinse garment in same temperature water. IMPORTANT! NEVER LEAVE MOHAIR GARMENTS TO SOAK. Squeeze water from garment and leave to dry flat on a rail to allow air to circulate round the garment. Keep out of direct sunlight. Never tumble dry as mohair will shrink. Never press or iron mohair. Mohair is a living fibre which will react to body heat and become “alive” when worn. There’s no need therefore to brush the garment after wash.
