I finished the sample garment for the Drops Jackie KAL. I'm sporting it with the collar off the shoulder. It is just as nice as a cowl colllar.
Pattern: Jackie by Drops Design
Yarn: Drops Nepal #1101 White
Yesterday started out balmy, near 50 degrees. Crazy for January 10th which is supposed to be the coldest time of the year. I celebrated by busting out the lace scarf. Take that old man winter!
Pattern: Swallowtail

Well I guess everything in life balances out, today it's snowing, blowing and cold! Ha, no problem just put that wooly scarf back on. Take that!

If I like a pattern I usually try it out at least twice in different yarns. You know that I have loved cowls for about three years now and I am STILL in love with them. You can make warm bulky ones and wear them over your jacket collar to stop all drafts or drapey accessory ones to dress up my favorit outfit of t-shirt, jeans and boots. A customer came in and mentioned that she was making "that" purl bee cowl. Whenever someone uses the adjective "that", it peaks my interest because it probably means there is a pattern out there that has gone viral and I've been living under a rock.
Here is "that" cowl.

I know you are busy with your Christmas shopping, baking & decorating but I just wanted to let you know that our next KAL (knit along) will be starting the week of January 24th and the Alpaca or Nepal are perfect yarns for it AND they are currently on sale 25% off. The sale ends on Dec 31st but colors are already limited. Your best chance to get your color of choice would be to order by Dec 13th (that's one week from today). When you do order please think of an alternative color just in case.
Many have already seen the model for the KAL because I have hardly taken it off since I finished it. This is definately my go-to sweater. It is seamed but very easy to get all your pieces that same length because you can count the number of ridges to make them equal. This also makes it a piece of cake for seaming, you just match it up ridge to ridge. It is a set in sleeve which makes it sit very nicely on your shoulders.
The sizes are generous so I went down one size and knit the Small for myself.Yarn Choices:

Amy finished her KAL Sweater!
We did out little photo shoot at the shop during the Thursday night knitting group.
Then we all asked Amy how much she liked her cardigan. She showed us.
